NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- The S&P 500
turned negative midmorning Wednesday as energy stocks sold off after
crude oil futures plummeted. A refocus on commodities stole focus from
better-than-expected earnings for Apple
(AAPL - Get Report) and Yahoo!
(YHOO - Get Report) that propped up markets earlier.
The S&P 500 slid 0.2%, down from gains of more than 0.5% earlier. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat, and the Nasdaq jumped 0.46%.
